Thanks Luke!

I am lucky to have a talented son who is my web host and site developer. You can see some of his work and some interesting web development blog entries on his site www.lukejenkins.com or visit his side business site where he does web hosting and development www.superbubba.com

It all started a few years ago when my son, Luke, gave me my own domain as a Christmas present. He knew I’d get a kick out of having my own site and he has been hosting my site ever since. Recently, he put a lot of work into reconfiguring the site from the ground up to make it easier for me to manage the content, and more fun for those who visit. I have to say he really did an amazing job and I’ll never go back to generating HTML pages! Of course, I’m proud of him, but I’m also grateful for all the effort he put into this for his dad.

A new start in more ways than one…

In addition to launching the new budjenkins.com, today was my first day on the job in my new position at Foxconn. After 33 years with HP, it is exciting to be starting a new career with a company that manufactures some of the best products in the world for a number of major companies. You haven’t heard of Foxconn? Well, that is because they are the manufacturing machine and the “brand” behind the brands you know. You know their products: HP PC’s and laptops; Apple iPhones and iPods; and numerous products for other brands like Kodak, Motorola, etc.

The world has gotten smaller and the global economy is a reality that touches all of us. These major brands sell products all around the world and they depend of Foxconn to achieve the best product quality at prices that can only be achieved because of their vertical capabilities and tremendous scale.

I’m going to be commuting to San Diego a lot and visiting Taiwan, China, and Singapore as well. I’ll try and post some interesting things I learn during my travels.
